Benefits flow out as long as there is money available. As it is currently structured, it is not sustainable. It has not failed yet, but it will fail. People are living too long with too few people paying into the system. I have already started my own alternate plans for retirement. Perhaps, with an extremely unpleasant overhaul, it might serve me in some capacity. A cut in benefits and at a much older retirement age, say 72.
